The Olympic Mountains in Washington State, have escaped clification?
With all the reading and shows about how the Earth was made. I haven't been able to find out why the Olympic Peninsula is not considered a Volcano? I understand we were iced-over on several occasions, leading to piles of glacier till. As a resident rock-hound, I have found huge amounts of Volcanic activity. To include basalt, peridot, jade, chert, jasper, and what was once liquid green-blue lava. The biggest tell-tell is Fire Stone. I don't believe the sparse information available, one of these mountains in this range had to have been active. My yard is full of something other than what could have been brought in by glaciers. Unless Mount Baker blew it over here. Cause I don't think it would have come from the south. Does anyone out there know which of these Olympic Mountains could have leaked this material out?
