What is the best method to clean up dog hair?

My dog sheds A LOT, especially once at the end of summer and winter. I have hardwood floors in the main living areas. I've tried vacuuming, a huge lint roller made for floors and yes, the Swiffer. I normally swiffer every day and still need to use a hand vacuum to suck up what hasn't stuck to the Swiffer. Help please?
