Are you dressing your kids cute or scary for Halloween?

this year my cousins are going as indiana jones, a princess, a zombie, and a dog. last year they were a zombie, a vampire, a werewolf, and a ghost. i actually prefer the creepy costumes and plan to dress my little kids in those when i have my own kids. halloween is supposed to be about scary creepy things, not dress up as your favorite animal or princess day. i hardly ever see creepy costumes anymore, in fact last year i got a lot of dirty looks when i took my cousins trick or treating in their scary costumes, one lady said "arent those costumes a little to gorey for such small children?." to me, the freddy kruegers and dead bikers are quite refreshing from the hundreds of princesses and toy story characters.
