This what I don't understand?

I understand why some people may not vote Obama. I understand why you may not agree with what he has said. I can understand why people may think that the other candidates are better for the job. What I do not understand is how people can "hate" this man. I'm not just talking about the recent Reverend stuff. Through the internet and articles, I have heard people express hate for this man not base on reasonable points and long before this recent event. You may not agree with his message of change or even believe that he himself believes in it, but can you hate a man because of it? Other then this reverend controversy, why do some of you hate him? (The reason why I dismiss the reverend controversy is because many of the people who hate him now, hated him long before this came up)
