Why don't we reduce every environmentalist's carbon-footprint down to zero?

If environmentalists were really serious, they'd give up every modern tool and technology that they use to reduce their carbon footprint. That's the thing, it won't stop until we are all living in mud huts and washing our biodegradable clothing in the same river we pee in. Shoulder to shoulder in the rice paddies....yea earth!
